There are many reasons why a person learns Tajweed, including the following: 1- The science of Tajweed helps protect the tongue from making mistakes in the words of the Holy Quran when reciting. It also helps contemplate the meanings of the Quran and reflect on its verses and objectives, as Allah Almighty says: "This is a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they may reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding may be reminded." 2-The science of Tajweed corrects tongue crookedness and trains the tongue to pronounce correctly in the Arabic language. It also helps in learning Arabic. 3- It protects the reader's tongue from mistakes when reciting the verses of the Qur'an, which leads him to attain the pleasure of Allah Almighty and achieve happiness in this world and the hereafter.
